Hell Hath No Fury!
Welcome to the first episode of the series “Hell Hath No Fury!” Hi! My name is Ana Maria, host of Sassy Political Coach.
Every time we turn around, we can hardly catch our breath before the next wave of unbelievable comes scrolling over our screens. Overturning Roe v Wade, which re-legalized abortion care in 1973, the six ReTHUGlican members of the U.S. Supreme Court returned our abortion care to the whims of politicians in each state. Let’s be clear. Politicians must NEVER tell woman — or a couple — when start or expand a family. EVER.The court threatens our right to privacy, birth control, marriage equality, and more.
These six ReTHUGlicans opened the doors to recreating the Wild Wild West which will increase the weekly mass murders killing innocent people with weapons of war. They’ve taken a bulldozer to the wall separating church and state. Of course, they’re fine with separating their Bible and their actions. And so much more.
Naturally, we feel angry, full of fury and rage. Many feel politically frustrated, helpless, uncertain of what to do, how to help. I get it. Our job now is to channel our fury to tap into our political power so we transform this hellacious chaos into the America WE love and cherish and begin again to make good on the Promise of America.
President Biden told us exactly what we need right now. We need 2 additional pro-choice U.S. Senators on whom we can depend. President Biden acknowledged how frustrating this is.
Boy, is it ever frustrating … well, until you realize that we can make that happen. The number is 2 additional pro-choice U.S. Senators.
In terms of frustration, that’s where I can help. I’ve been on the political frontlines for women’s rights, voter rights, and more all over the nation for many decades.
Right now there are 50 ReTHUGliQan Senators none of whom have stepped up to the plate to declare their vow, their votes to protect women’s healthcare, women’s decisions, women’s rights much less voter rights, protecting us from police brutality, etc.
We have an opportunity to help elect 2 additional strong pro-choice Democratic Senators. And keep the pro-choice majority we now have in the House. We have this window of opportunity and tools at our disposal to fight and win by recognizing the tools at our disposal, being strategic and doing what works.
Democracy requires effort. But it sure beats the hell out living under oppression that the ReTHUGliQans promise.
